LION PICTURES - inspire people to see wild lions for themselves

Lion pictures show off these massive tawny cats beautifully … the way they match the dry, dusty earth of the African veld and blend in with the grass in which they hunt. It is a joy for wildlife photographers to still be able to find beautiful wilderness areas in Africa amidst the burgeoning populations of humanity, and it is for this very reason why photographers travel to remote, off-road areas, sometimes on foot and in treacherous situations to photograph lions, resulting in an outstanding photographic portrayal of this gorgeous tawny beast.

Pictures of lions always make a strong visual statement, but its not only their behaviour that's important,  its the environment as well, and the superb blending of these two elements makes the strongest lion pictures. The success of fantastic lion pictures for documentaries, magazines, calenders, postcards etc is largely due to the skills of the photographer and his local knowledge, field craft and understanding of the lions.. For Martin,  meeting the sunrise, when the lion is likely to make a kill is all in a days work, and he understands light and weather – how it affects animals' behaviour.

Martin Harvey has a wide range of Lion Picturesand operates a photographic library that specializes in wildlife, travel and commercial stock photos. Lion Photography

Martin contributes to publications such as National Geographic and some of his work graces the walls of game lodges and hotels. Conservation is a key theme in his photography which encourages others to go out and see for themselves the wonders of nature, and to develop a desire to help preserve what remains.

Cubs suckling at a lioness or tussling with playmates, lions interrupting their meal to growl threateningly at the photographer, lions displaying their superbly conditioned muscles as they crouch and drink from a pool – whatever your reason for wanting lion pictures, Martin's photography will hold you spellbound, check out his on-line gallery to view this unique talent and skill, or contact him should you wish to assign him for a particular project.
