Panoramic photography is a technique which uses specialized equipment and or software, that captures images in an elongated format. It is sometimes known as wide format photography. Today there are film and digital panoramic cameras available to obtain your panoramic images.

When shooting panoramic images, make sure to overlap your pictures by at least 30 percent as this becomes important when you process the pictuers and the software one uses has to find the overlapping bits of each image to join the panoramic together. This is a skill a panoramic photographer has to bear in mind when taking the picture.

The advantages of using panoramic images is that your view is much wider than normal the normal image.
